FULL-TIME PHARMACIST – (Clinical & Retail Operations)
Location: Majesty Estate Road, NTA Road,
Port Harcourt, Rivers State
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary: ₦220,000 Monthly

About the Position
We are seeking a qualified,
experienced, and patient-focused Pharmacist to join our team and take
responsibility for the day-to-day clinical and retail pharmacy operations.
The successful candidate will
play a key role in ensuring safe medication dispensing, quality
pharmaceutical care, regulatory compliance, effective inventory management, and
excellent customer service.
This position is ideal for a
professional Pharmacist who is clinically competent, detail-oriented, ethical,
and capable of maintaining high standards while working in a busy retail
pharmacy environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Prescription Dispensing &
Patient Care
- Accurately
dispense prescriptions in accordance with professional standards and
applicable regulations.
- Review
prescriptions, dosages, contraindications, allergies, and potential drug
interactions before dispensing.
- Assess
relevant patient information and, where appropriate, check clinical vital
signs such as blood pressure and blood glucose.
- Exercise
appropriate professional judgment when dispensing medications for chronic
conditions and other high-risk treatments.
- Identify
and appropriately escalate potential medication-related concerns.
2. Patient Counseling &
Health Advice
- Provide
clear and professional counseling on medication dosage, administration,
adherence, storage, and possible side effects.
- Educate
patients on relevant dietary and medication interactions.
- Provide
professional guidance on appropriate over-the-counter (OTC)
medicines.
- Promote
responsible medication use and contribute to positive patient outcomes.
- Maintain
confidentiality and treat all patients with professionalism and respect.
3. Inventory & Pharmaceutical
Quality Control
- Monitor
daily medication stock levels and communicate replenishment requirements.
- Maintain
proper control and documentation of controlled medicines and
prescription-only medicines (POMs).
- Monitor
medication expiry dates, batch information, packaging integrity, and
storage conditions.
- Ensure
medicines are stored under appropriate conditions, including maintaining
the cold chain for refrigerated products.
- Report
damaged, expired, missing, or compromised pharmaceutical products promptly.
- Support
effective stock management and minimize losses arising from expiry,
damage, or improper storage.
4. Supervision of Pharmacy
Operations
- Supervise
pharmacy technicians, sales assistants, and cashiers on the retail floor.
- Ensure
staff maintain appropriate professional, ethical, hygiene, and
customer-service standards.
- Monitor
compliance with established pharmacy procedures and operational policies.
- Maintain
a clean, organized, safe, and professional pharmacy environment.
- Support
smooth and efficient day-to-day pharmacy operations.
5. Records, Documentation &
Reporting
- Maintain
accurate daily records of dispensed medications and relevant clinical
interventions.
- Maintain
appropriate dangerous drug/controlled-drug registers and other
required pharmaceutical records.
- Ensure
pharmacy documentation is accurate, complete, current, and properly
maintained.
- Prepare
routine pharmacy, inventory, and operational reports as required by
management.
- Support
internal reviews, inspections, and regulatory compliance activities.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor
of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D) from a recognized
institution.
- Must
be duly registered with the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN).
- Must
possess a valid current practising licence.
- Previous
experience in retail, community, hospital, or clinical pharmacy will be an
advantage.
- Strong
knowledge of prescription dispensing, medication safety, patient
counseling, and pharmaceutical inventory management.
- Good
understanding of applicable pharmacy regulations and professional ethics.
- Excellent
communication, interpersonal, organizational, and customer-service skills.
- Strong
attention to detail and a high level of professional integrity.
- Ability
to work effectively in a busy retail environment and supervise pharmacy
support staff.
